This fanlisting is for the 60's landmark television sitcom, The Andy Griffith Show. The show is set in the lazy town of Mayberry, North Carolina. Andy Taylor is the sheriff who doesn't wear a gun, Barney Fife is his clown-ish deputy (also his best friend since high school). At the home front, there's Aunt Bee and Andy's son, Opie. In the town there are the unforgettable characters of Floyd the Barber, Mayor Pike, Gomer Pyle, Andy's girlfriends Ellie Walker, Mary Simpson, and others. When the show turned to color in 1965, Opie was older, Barney took a job in Raleigh, and there came a lot of new characters: Goober Beasley (or Pyle), Howard Sprague, Sam Jones, Emmett Clark and his wife Martha, Andy got in a serious relationship with Helen Crump, Opie's teacher, which turned to marriage in "Mayberry RFD." During its 8 seasons, the show got a lot of fans that are still watching it even today. And now, there's a whole new generation discovering Andy. Thanks for visiting and/or joining!
